Propelled by rising demand in North America’s shale for oil country tubular goods, Russian United Metallurgical Company (OMK) was to celebrate the opening ceremony for its new pipe manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, US with investment of US$100 million.

The pipe production facility expected to acquire the API certification by early April 2013 and the main market of this plant will service OCTG markets across the US.

OMK is the key supplier of large-diameter pipes for the North European Gas Pipeline and Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean Oil Pipeline as well.
